WHAT DO YOU THINK.........................…

Its over with me & 4 year boyf, he's 29 & he didnt have full time work due to recession and that put strain on relationship as he could not afford practical things for us, yet he always had money for weekend night out with friends, till 3am or mid week night of darts or weekend golf etc. i wanted to save for future or think about a mortgage rather than the crazy rent we were paying but he always had an excuse of not being able to afford the practical things ie. not to bring our relationship to the next level. Long story short we argued over this for the last year and he then broke up with me in a letter and went out with his friend until 8am the next day & stayed in bed all that day. I have moved out to start a new life & he is angry because I dont want to be friends (im hurt) he text to say he loved me & never wanted this to happen but feels its best because we were always fighting about the same topic (see above). im so confused - did he ever really want a future or was did he just want the single kind of life with me in it - he used to say to me '' we are living together what more do you want'' . Was i expecting to much - I honestly dont believe I was & I really believe that I deserve better I just want to hear what you think good or bad - Thanks :O)
